Tom Rietz
Founder, President
Canterra Homes

Chairman
Pinnacle Bank

“Fiercely loyal, religiously hard working and flat out brilliant, Tom is a leader without peer, demonstrating time and again the ability to overcome every obstacle and rise up in the face of the most violent opposition with sincerity and his ethics intact.”

Tom Rietz could easily have capitalized on his God given talents and made millions working for any major corporation without ever having to assume any personal risk, he’s just that smart. Doing so however would have been far too unchallenging of a journey and opposite from the direction of the internal compass that has always sent him toward his entrepreneurial calling.

The path he has carved is proof that the entrepreneurial “will” to triumph in spite of fear is far more powerful a motivator than the luxury of complacency with security. Tom walked away from a powerhouse career with the largest privately held company in the United States and in 1996 packed up his family and moved to the desert of Arizona to realize his dream of building homes. He put his own money on the line, and immersed himself in every element of the business and within 9 years—by 2005—the company he founded was recognized as the 8th fastest growing company in the state of Arizona.

Tom’s built over 1500 homes, in over 25 different communities and in the face of the worst housing market of the last quarter century Canterra keeps on building and Tom keeps on moving. In fact the Entrepreneurial bug has infected Tom so deeply he refused to be satisfied just building homes, he started an insurance company, mortgage brokerage and a whole bank to go along with it. How’s that for growth?

The Lucky Napkin company is solidified by Tom’s Founding Member commitment. He brings a depth of fundamental business intelligence that allows him to visualize the big picture instantly in any great idea.
